Officers can utilize their personal phones while operating with Smart Squad. It is recommended for departments to possess a personal phone usage policy should this be the practice.

Does it only work on the cell phone, or does it work on laptop?

Smart Squad can be utilized via cell phone, laptop, and desktop. Smart Squad works on all Apple, Android, and Windows devices.

What happens if phones lose service?

Smart Squad backs up every 7 seconds, so you don’t lose what you have been working on. During loss of cell service, users can still operate within Smart Squad and the information will be stored and submitted until the user gains phone service back.

Can you shut location/GPS off?

Individual Officer shifts can be input into Smart Squad so that Officers are only tracked during their shifts. Additionally, once the officer logs off of Smart Squad their location will no longer be tracked.

Does Ai note taking translate other languages?

At this time Smart Squad AI does not translate other languages but will transcribe the language in the note taking feature to be translated by a separate entity.

Can it be subject to open records requests?

Smart Squad does not house any data, just transports it to the department’s current information systems. Therefore, open records requests would proceed as normal.
